In our latest Translate Flashcards update (version 1.17), we’re excited to introduce keyboard navigation, a new ‘Date Saved’ column in the phrasebook, and some UI rearrangements for a smoother experience.
Keyboard Shortcuts
On desktop, you can now start, stop, and navigate through the flashcards using your keyboard. Below is a list of the shortcut keys that are currently available. You can also see if a button has a shortcut by hovering over it with your mouse. Thanks to Huan, who suggested this addition!
Key | Action |
Space | Start/Stop Flashcards |
S | Shuffle On/Off |
A | Play Audio On/Off |
Down Arrow | Show Translation / Next Phrase |
Right Arrow | Mark as Correct |
Left Arrow | Mark as Incorrect |

U | Remove Phrase from Saved |
R | Reverse Phrase Order |
Return | Back to Settings |
‘Date Saved’ Column
In the phrasebook view, we’ve added a ‘Date Saved’ column. This column displays the date when a phrase was added to your phrasebook, enhancing your tracking and review process. Thanks to Dawid for suggesting this one!
UI Rearrangements
You’ll notice some UI changes, most notably that the flashcard play controls have been moved to the bottom of the app. This adjustment improves accessibility on mobile devices and declutters the top header.
Using Translate Flashcards in Orion for iOS
One additional note for iOS users: We’ve added instructions on how you can install the Translate Flashcards extension in the Orion browser.
